iRODS access is based on there being a research project (see the lifecycle page for details of the run stage of a project). A researcher applies for access for this research project. After an intake procedure you will have access to a data collection on irods where you can store your research data.
During the intake procedure you will be asked for additional information so the correct lifecycle can be set up for your data.
